The Open Technology Fund (OTF), an independent organization committed to advancing global Internet freedom and counteracting surveillance has awarded The Mobile Intelligence Alliance (MIA) with ongoing support via its Internet Freedom Fund (IFF) for the development and launch of Mobile Surveillance Monitor, a multi-source threat intelligence solution providing insights into repressive global surveillance activity targeting at-risk groups around the world.
Through partnerships with technology providers, NGOs, and open-source researchers, Mobile Surveillance Monitor curates and processes intelligence data to expose threat actors, tooling, and attack patterns. By offering public dashboards, research tools, and enriched datasets, MSM empowers the global community with critical resources to expose threat actors, their tactics, and the latest spyware to investigate, document, and counter the harms of advanced surveillance threats.
Mobile Intelligence Alliance is pleased to collaborate with The Citizen Lab - an interdisciplinary laboratory based at the University of Toronto Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, to research targeted mobile surveillance.
Jointly, both organizations will work to research, evaluate, and report on the real world impacts of current and future mobile network vulnerabilities to improve user and industry awareness.
